Before your visit

Bring any previous eye records, current medications, and glasses or contact lenses you use. If you're coming for a comprehensive evaluation, some tests involve pupil dilation, which temporarily blurs vision — plan for someone to drive you home if possible, or allow extra time before driving yourself.

Travelling from outside Ahmedabad

Puja Eye Hospital regularly sees patients referred from ophthalmologists across Gujarat, including Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Anand, and smaller towns. Patients also travel from Rajasthan and, increasingly, from further afield in central India, seeking dedicated glaucoma expertise not always available closer to home.

For a first visit, plan for roughly 2–3 hours to allow time for evaluation, with a follow-up visit typically 4–6 weeks later for most cases. Exact timing varies by individual case and is discussed when your appointment is confirmed.

On the day of surgery

Most glaucoma procedures are same-day surgery — admitted, treated, and discharged the same day. You'll receive specific pre- and post-procedure instructions ahead of your surgery date, including any fasting requirements and arrangements for getting home.

For pediatric appointments

If your child's evaluation requires Examination Under Anesthesia (EUA), you'll receive specific instructions in advance, including fasting requirements. A parent or guardian should plan to be present for the full visit.

Billing and insurance

Puja Eye Hospital operates on a reimbursement basis — payment is made directly at the time of your visit or procedure, and you'll be provided with the receipts and medical documentation needed to claim reimbursement from your insurance provider afterward.
